Artists
FPA currently has a database of over 50 artists, and we’re always on the look out for more, particularly those with experience of delivering arts in health projects.
Our work includes community projects and work with:
- adult mental health service users
- adults diagnosed with personality disorders
- young adults with emotional and behavioural issues
- ethnic and newly arrived groups
- wider communities
- elderly people
- hearing impaired
- visually impaired
If you would like to register as an artist with Full Potential Arts, you can call Full Potential Arts on 0121 446 6829 or write to us at FPA, The Friends Institute, 220 Moseley Road, Birmingham, B12 0DG.
Volunteers Required
We understand that an adult mental health charity does not have the emotional public appeal of say, a children’s, or animal charity. Nevertheless, becoming a volunteer for Full Potential Arts could be incredibly rewarding, and positively impact on your personal and career development. It is also a truly altruistic way to deliver your organisation’s corporate social responsibility objectives.
This link will show current opportunities available to volunteers. These may change from time to time so if you want to register with us we will keep your details on file and contact you with any suitable opportunities.
Art Club helper
Every Monday between 1pm and 3pm Full Potential Arts delivers an open access art club for mental health service users at the Friends Institute. We’d be keen to have a rota of two or three volunteers to help our artist in residence. The role will require some physical work (carrying materials to and from the room via a flight of stairs), and providing general support to the artist and service users.
Board members required
Becoming a non-executive director of Full Potential Arts can be incredibly rewarding, and positively impact on your personal and career development. It is also a truly altruistic way to deliver your organisation’s corporate social responsibility objectives.
We meet six – eight times per year and would particularly welcome candidates with experience, perspective or skills in the following areas:
- qualified accountant
- human resources or employment law
- grant-writing or tendering for public contracts
- business strategy and development
- mental health difficulties, positive mental healthcare and service provision
- project management
- quality auditing
- IT, web development
- artists working in mental healthcare or community art
